 About Us
The Blackwood Reconciliation Group was formed in the mid 1990s to :
  • promote a united Australia which respects this land of ours, values the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage, and advance the cause of reconciliation locally, in the state and nationally;
  • honour the memory of all those who lived at Colebrook Eden Hills by a partnership with the     Tji Tji Tjuta (former residents) and  recognise and value their children, grandchildren and other relations;
  • recognise the importance of reconciliation in the wider community and  contribute to the maintenance and ongoing development of the Colebrook Eden Hills site.
The Blackwood Reconciliation Group in partnership with the Tji Tji Tjuta have developed the Colebrook Reconciliation Park at Eden Hills as a national memorial and interpretive centre for the stolen generations.  While the “fountain of tears”, the “grieving mother” statue and the many etched photographs and inscriptions all have a focus on the former residents of the home, the memorial site is also a significant national site remembering and commemorating members of the stolen generations from all over Australia
